Biography
My name is Josh Lamoureux. I did my first tattoo in September of 2008. After doing an apprenticeship with Eric Sabatier, Jason McLean, Glen Herron, and Adam Donesely; I started tattooing full time in July of 2009.
I love being an active person, whether I am in the chair tattooing, in front of a canvas painting or up on a mountain riding a bike or snowboard. I love excitement and the feeling of accomplishing things I thought I could never do!
I have been extremely privileged to work alongside many great artists over the years who have helped me learn new techniques and broaden my skillset as an artist.
I aim to work in a bold and dynamic style that is crisp and finely detailed. I draw inspiration from many artists who I appreciate, like Steve Moore, Jeff Gogue, James Tex, Jared Phair and Shane Ford.
After being technically focused for years I am trying to implement a new path with my artwork; I want to explore the story and meaning behind the art as much as possible.
Finding a way to translate emotion and meaning into something visual is my new goal. I want to send a message and make people think about what they see.
I hope to grow tremendously over the next years and learn what it is that speaks to the eye of the beholder. Whether it be on canvas or skin.
I don't want to just push ink around, I want to find meaning in each and every brush stroke.
